(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
100% YES. My wife and I have been wanting to get started with raising chickens for quite some time considering where our society is headed. We now have some land to do just that.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have zero chickens at the moment as we are still gathering information about the basics such as coop style, etc.
(3) What breeds do you have?
As mentioned above, we have none at this time.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
As I have nothing to judge from at this point, I will make the assumption....fresh eggs?
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Following politics and attempting to follow Jesus. Exercising our 2nd amendment rights and occasional golf.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
The wife is the office manager for a multi disciplinary holistic health care practice. I am a senior lecturer at a local university. We have no children but an angel of a 16 YO doggie who has no use of his rear legs.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I actually stumbled onto this site as a result of a general web search looking for plans to build a chicken tractor.
