Concern for other animals

Has anyone had any problems with chickens passing diseases or infections to their dogs or other animals. I've had a couple of chickens in the house because of illness (worms) had one die from bacterial infection in oviduct vet said not contagious and now my dog seems to be sick, some vomiting and shaking. Took her to vet the other day nothing found but this morning she seems to have same symptoms. Taking her to very as soon as they open. Thanks for feedback.

There arnt many poultry diseases that are zoonotic to humans or mammals including dogs. Click "Diseases" next to "Overview" in the link:

Poultry worms are host specific, so are dog worms. An exception would be hookworms in which humans, chickens and dogs can be infected.

I would be more inclined to think that your dog ate the chicken droppings and has an E. Coli or other bacterial infection. Definitely justifies a trip to the vet.

That's what I'm suspecting, but she's not a poop eater so just don't know.

My dog sneaks a chicken snack once in awhile, he's always fine....but I wont let him
lick me.

Blood work and vet exam comes back clean, could be just a case of upset stomach. Of course at the vet she acts normal. Thanks everyone for responses.
