Ha Ha I'm setting my first eggs tomorrow and I am already planning to start hatching my own eggs in the fall! Gotta test them right? Every time my hubby asks where are we going to put all these chickens, I just reply with I guess we just need to build another coop!

I bought a new incubator about 6 weeks ago. The first hatch done.,,,Second hatch almost done,,,,,I have eggs sitting waiting to go in next. The incubator has not rested yet.

....When will it,? I better not answer that.

You guys and your incubators are just awful! I haven't even got my chicks yet, let alone got my coop built and now I want to go out and buy an incubator and some eggs cuz it sounds like such a blast watching the babies hatch! Lord, I've got to stop reading these incubator threads!!! My wife is concerned about all the time I'm spending on this site! LOL

Day 7 for my After New Year's Hatch!

Candling results:

6 out of 8 BLRW's from Janie Marie show veining. Holding onto all of them.

2 out of 5 Ameruacana from Poultry Hollow show veining. The others too dark to tell. Holding on to all of them. The one remaining light blue egg is one with veins so I am psyched about that. One light blue discarded early for weeping. I had to use my homemade candler as I have burned out the batteries in my Surefire Flashlight! Again....

The Brinsea ECO 20 arrives on Monday. If I get my FINAL egg shipment before these hatch I will have another bator to use. I listed my Hovabator on Craigslist last night and it was taken in under five minutes and picked up today! A lady near me needed it because her broody abandoned the nest on Day 16.
