can you confirm at this age he is in fact a HE?

Hm., At 7 weeks I would think the comb would be at least pink if not red by now! Though the posture looks male...I guess I'll say gender neutral as of now!

No one really knows with cochins, it takes them a long time to mature. Just by guessing I would say a girl because your bird in the back has a much redder comb.

I say its a girl and it doesnt look like a silver laced cochin, more like a Birchen Cochen.

I would also say its a birchen female. Dont think she is silver laced. But at 7 weeks old, Im pretty sure its a female.

Okay

it came from McMurray - so it is not a bird from a breeder, so the color could be poor in quality?
they don't list Birchen as an option.

I will hang on to it for a bit longer to be sure. I don't have a good set up for feather footed friends <G> in the rainy Pac NW.

Looks like a girl to me! There is definitely a Boy in the last pic behind the Cochin.
