I am new to chickens and ended up with 6 roosters in my first attempt at a flock. They are about 4 months + old now and starting to present roostery.
The Wyandotte rooster is gourgeous and big. He has now decided that he wants to breed the ducks and is very aggressive and dominant. I tried locking him in another pen for a day and when I let him out this morning he was like a bully on the playground dominating and crowding everyone. He doesn't really go to it with the other roosters yet but he sure intimidates the flock and then attacks the ducks! I locked him in the other pen again.
Any ideas on how to tone down a rooster? They are 4-H chickens and we have been handling him a lot more to see if that helps. So far he hasn't volunteered to try and attack us!
