Hi, I am setting up my Maino incubator with a new thermometer and am having trouble reading it.
The thermometer has long and short horizontal lines marking the degrees.

My question is, does the longer horizontal line correspond to whole degrees and the shorter one the half degrees?

I have attached a photo which hopefully will explain what I mean!

Many thanks in advance for any help

Am i fooled or is the long lines just below 35 and 40 slightly longer than the other long lines? If that is the case, then my bet is that those extra long lines are the 35 and 40 readings.

After looking at the thermometer again i have realised you are right, the 35 and 40 lines are longer. I will set the temperature accordingly.

Many thanks for you help!

No problem :) You most likely want to calibrate it though (there's some articles on this forum about it) and/or use other thermometers to check its accuracy (although they too might need calibrating)
