We decided to all hatch eggs in our classrooms this year. We have 3 incubators and got eggs from 3 farms. We split the eggs so that we all had the same amounts from each farm. We are absolutely at a loss for why 1 of us got chicks and the other 2 did not.
Day 21 was Wednesday...
My incubator was struggling to stay at a consistent temperature all along. My temp went up as high as 102 and down as low as 93 at one point. I would get it consistent for 2 days and then it would drop or increase fast. My incubator was opened multiple times with my classes to candle eggs. I figured I would not hatch any chicks this year! I have 10 that have hatched out of 41 eggs.
Mr. F's incubator had a consistent temperature all along. His humidity did drop low a few times, but for a short period of time. His incubator was only opened to add water and to candle one time. He had zero chicks!
Mr. N had a brand new incubator that was digital. His humidity and temp were perfect all along. After day 18 he had trouble getting his humidity up, but by day 19 it was up to 70's. His incubator was barely opened at all. He had zero chicks!
Everyone sure is puzzled as to why this has happened! We felt that, if anything, it should have been my chicks that did not hatch. Any thoughts?

Were the thermometers and hygormeters sp. calibrated to assure that they were reading correctly. Given that egg sources were the same for all three incubators, I would guess that temperature and humidity sensors were reading incorrectly.
