connecticuters - remember danbury fair?

at the time, it was the biggest fair on the eastern seaboard

i was talking to my wife the other day trying to describe the
danbury fair. and how sad that its now the danbury mall.

this was my first exposure to livestock, all kinds.

i remember walking into the poultry house and hearing
the roosters crowing. and seeing all those blue ribbons.

wondering if anyone is "old" enough to have gone?

Yes, I remember the Danbury Fair! It was wonderful! I grew up in Dutchess County, NY and we loved to go to the Danbury Fair and the Dutchess County Fair.

It killed me when the land was sold for more rampant consumerism! (But at least they saved the carousel - too bad they didn't save the chickens & cute cows.)
