Considering Peafowl : Need info

At an auction in NY, some Amish people bought some charcoal peahens the peafowl breeder I know brought there, and somebody told the guy that is is super rare and he got them for a great price, and he told him how to get males of that color. It was all right except for the fact that they do not lay, with the exception of a few hens. I felt bad...he will find out in a few years when they do not lay.

That's too bad. I mean, that's a plus for me. Our peahen Princess got so super upset when her eggs didn't hatch, she kept looking for new places to lay them, and I think that's why she finallly dissapeared....she was bound and determined to hatch eggs and she figured laying them in the barn wasn't a good plan. Anyway, she's gone, and I miss her. I don't want to go through that again. Even though we probably will with our other two IB's. I just want girlfriends for our beautiful boys.....

Your welcome. You can always check the UPA directory to see if there are any people nearby who have them. Post pictures if you get any!

Jay Louden. He's a good guy, I trust him to sell us healthy birds, and he's got lots of colors. Louden Farm, I think he's near Cleveland.
