Considering purchasing the Ador1 door and what age chicks need to be to use it safely?

Hello,

I am researching automatic doors and it seems the Ador 1 is highly recommended? My chicks are 3 weeks now, what age would be safe to use this?

Now is fine. My chicks taught themselves to go back to their brooder after playing outside at that age. I just left the patio door open.

I guess my main concern is if it came down on one of them at this age/size would it stop?

What happens when you touch their back? I assume the door does not move very fast, if it does it's not a safe door. When my door is opening in the morning they squat down to go out while it's still opening. Mine is totally safe as it is hanging from a string so it can't put any down pressure.

The best thing to do is watch their behavior and habits and make absolutely sure the door does not close before dusk (not sundown).
