I am starting to raise exotic pheasants and having a hard time finding peach golden, peach spalsh, and silver golden pheasants. I have a silver golden male but am looking to buy more. If anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

For peach goldens, try: Stan Ivanjesku, Bradenton,FL. Chris Adams, Upton, MA. or Spectrum Ranch, Chamberlain, SD. For silver goldens, try: BYC member: wildbirdman55. HTH

the golden pheasant mutations are just color mutations, it's like how some people have blonde hair some people have red hair. They're all people 100% they just express different genetic traits in relation to their appearance.

That's what I said cross breeds! There is only 1 pure golden and that's the red golden. All others are mutations(cross breeds).

It's just a genetic mutation within the Golden species. One or two showed up randomly and through selective breeding the trait was established. They were never bred to anything outside their species so they are still Golden pheasants. Cross breeding denotes that they are a breeding of two different species within the same genus which they are not. Different colors still make them Golden pheasants they're just a different color and since the trait appeared as a mutation in red goldens they're pure blooded they just look different.

Maybe you didn't read the part where there is only 1 pure golden, and that's a red golden.Yes the yell golden has been established, but is still a mutation. So how can you breed a golden to a golden and come up with different mutations? They have been crossed, either by natural or artificially.

I just received 14 Lady Amherst eggs to try my hand at hatching. I don't know what I was thinking, but here goes nothing!

Good luck to you
