New to chickens but so far I have figured out it is pretty much like raising kids. Your start out with all the cool gadgets that don’t work and then your get a the not so cool stuff that does work. Then you start doing the things that work for you. I love this stuff. People always ask are you a dog person or a cat person? I found out at forty that I am a chicken person.

Please don't tell me this is like restoring an old car, where you never finish working and blowing money on the thing?

I was hoping to just have some small projects to finish, let the wife take over, and me just have to do some small fixer-upper things for the chickens as needed.

Hahaha! I’d have one here constantly when I see something else or come up with another idea I made a triangular perching frame last weekend out of scrap pieces of 2 x 2 and the hens love it

Yeah me too, although still got the cat (Usually find him sleeping in a nest box with the hens ) and a tank full of baby fish that someone asked if I could take in Retirement in 6 years ...I think my husband is bracing himself for the increase in chicken activity then lol!
