Constipated chicken

[My Very First 6 Chickens]

chicken squats to poop, but nothing coming out, and i see what appears to be her insides like pushing out during this time. She did lay an egg this morning.
Please help thanks!

Is she eating layer feed, and does she have access to crushed oyster shell for extra calcium if she needs it? Has she had any unusual eggs? You can safely give her a bit of chilled coconut oil cut into small pieces to peck. Or give 1 tsp of olive, veg, or mineral oil mixed into some cooked egg. If the problem is another egg, I would consider giving a human calcium tablet or Tums orally. You can insert a clean finger into her vent to check for a stuck egg or obstruction.
