So I had this idea to use one incubator up until lok down and a 2nd incubator for lok down only. It’s working. I mark the eggs with the lok down date. Transfer them on that date. I use fully dry hatch only.

I do that too. That way the second incubator gets dirty, and the first incubator stays clean. I use rubber shelf lining in the second one so those can go in the washer and dryer when done.

Eggs are set 5-6 days apart so I can clean the second one before putting the next ones in there.

I’m trying to have all jungle fowl but I’m down to one hen although I have 4 roosters. She gives me one egg per day so I add one per day. But my chicks now number 25 jungle, 30 New Hampshire Reds and about a dozen crossbred.

As long as you can manage your diverse age chicks that’s a slick idea!

I’ve been adding babies to the older chicks for a few months now. I did lose one chick that I added on her first day so that’s definitely too soon but just to give them 2-3 days and they have survived and soon they blend in.
