so im thinking this is the most economical way to get a coop . I have 12 chicks but soon to be 8 and they are 3 weeks. We really need to get moving onour coop! What
modifications to the shed to you make to turn it to a coop and what size should we get? best deal?

You should give three to four square feet per bird inside the house, so you should have a building atleast an 8 by 4 building but you should always build for more than what you want so if you make it an 8 by 6 coop you can have 12 chickens. The rule of thumb for nest boxes is 1 per 5 hens, and with a coop big enough for 12 two or three 1 square foot boxes should be enough. Then you will need roosts and from what I have read you should give chickens 1 square foot a piece on the roosts. Hope this helps!
