Hi there! I originally intended to build a chicken tractor for 4 chickens (my first ever), but got carried away with the cuteness of the chicks and bought too many. I have five chicks now and seven eggs in the incubator. I can't keep roosters, so I imagine that I will get 1 or 2 hens from the hatch. I also ordered 6 duck eggs. Sooo... I am looking to house about 6-7 hens and potentially up to 6 ducks.

Here is the progress I have made on the tractor so far:

The dimensions are: about 31" tall in middle, just over 8' long, and just under 5' wide.

I was thinking about covering the intended run area with roof and using the whole thing as a coop.

Should I keep the divider and door in the middle?
Does it need a floor?
Do I need to elevate it?
Any special accommodations for ducks?

Any suggestions are appreciated!!

I would suggest that you make a separate coop for the ducks. It is possible for them to live with chickens, but they are nastier than chickens. No offense meant by that! I love ducks. But the simple fact is that they are different. They poop different, wetter than chicken poop, and they nasty up a waterer in record time! So if a duck coop is at all possible....
