Just cooked in a covered skillet on the stovetop, trying not to heat up the whole house and make the a.c. work any harder.

Well

Now I know why we're all doing this!

However, this particular revelation probably does NOT bode well for my turkeys. They better watch it, they've been getting on my nerves lately with excessive gobbling!

Our first home-grown turkey last year was so good that we got six this year!

I'm thinking about raising our own thanksgiving dinner too, and right now you guys are making my husbands argument of wait til we are more experienced with the whole process seem more annoying than paying store prices.

Home grown chicken is NOMMY!

Plus it's so much better for you... and for the animal! They are raised well, have a good life (no matter how short) compared to the ones at the store and in return nourish you and your family!

<3 I about died when I had two of them two years ago <3

Haven't had time to raise any recently

Now if only the home grown tomatoes would grow

I hear ya! After I ate one of mine and made broth thick enough to stand a spoon in with the carcass, I put a For Sale sign in my little suburban front yard and started looking for ACRES in the country. :-)
