Cool Bed for Chickens?

I purchased a K&H Cool Bed for our dog & she doesn’t use it. A dog we had prior loved it but she was warm natured. Anyway thinking ahead to Summer is there any reason I can’t put it in the chickens run? It is easily hosed off & no electricity as it uses the water inside it to keep its temp cooler than ambient air temp. Thanks!

Welcome to BYC. Where, in general, are you located? Climate matters.

I have no idea if chickens would use that or not. In hot weather they like to dig down into cooler layers of soil and to hang out in the shade.

You sure can try it, heat can be hard on chickens. I am not sure if they will use it.
