what is a good bait to put in a live trap for a coon done lost two chickens an dont want to loose any more

I heard they can't resist marshmallows. Or sticky buns, sardines, peanut butter. Anything sweet or smelly.

The wet cat food that comes in a can. No matter what you will catch them by using that.

I used marshmallows and led a trail up to the trap with the oil from a sardine can. Couldn't make up my mind whether fishy stinky stuff or sweets would work better, so just used both in case I had a coon who preferred one or the other.

I have always used the remains of their kill and about 9 times out of 10 I get them the first night!
