Well at first I thought my boys just ran the chicks off. They were a few months old and they always chase them so thought they were lost out in the wheat field but now my big hens are gone so now I know something is up.You have had 30-35 birds go missing and you haven’t set up a game cam yet?!
I’m not sure what it is, but the raccoon hair is more evidence than most get. Animals don’t always do what we think they’re supposed to do.
That’s what I thought and it would explain why I haven’t found any dead birds around but now My boy found this hair by the garage all on the same day.I don't have experience with raccoons but that scat looks just like the coyote scat I've found next to my coop.
Maybe a coyote killed a raccoon. What a twist! That’s what I thought and it would explain why I haven’t found any dead birds around but now My boy found this hair by the garage all on the same day.
I know I’m sorry. I will be putting a cam out tonight. If I wouldn’t of rained I would of set some coyote traps but will wait till tomorrow nowMaybe a coyote killed a raccoon. What a twist!
But seriously, game cams are invaluable. It’s crazy to see what prowls around at night. It’s hard to speculate what happened with limited information.
Oh don’t be sorry, not your fault! We’ve all played the predator guessing game at some point or another. It gets very frustrating trying to piece clues together.I know I’m sorry. I will be putting a cam out tonight. If I wouldn’t of rained I would of set some coyote traps but will wait till tomorrow now
