We have a larger sized amish built storage shed that we just had the idea of sectioning a portion off a portion to serve as a coop for 5-6 hens. The area would be 4 x 8 and include access to a fenced run.

Has anyone else shared space with storage? Just wondered if there were any troubles that you have run into.

Thanks!

Your birds will be separated from the storage area, right? And feed will be secured from predators in covered containers? We did a coop reno on a barn stall and we're very pleased.

We also used the back half of our shed and just added another section on the left side because I didnt give them enough room. It seems to be working out really well.

My coop IS a storage shed at the moment - we're renovating the shed to become the hen-house, but so far only have it half done - the 'outside' half that has a roof too. It was actually dog kennel turned storage shed now 1/2 turned chicken coop! lol
