Thought I'd share how our chicken home turned out.
The coop is a purchased Amish-made one. We added poop trays (two, to make for easier removal).
The floor of the coop is covered with a removable piece of vinyl flooring, as are the poop trays.
We made the run ourselves. 10 x 20 x 86" H, completely covered with hardware cloth. Buried hardware cloth down and out from the run.
The chicks (six of them, about 11 weeks old now) seem to love it. They have the shade under the coop to help with hot sunny days and they really do seem happy.
Hope you like the pics!

Very nice! Beautiful too!
I'm paranoid about predator protection, and would add a couple of things.
Safer door latches, to keep raccoons out.
1"x4" wood strips, screwed in, over the hardware cloth edges.
Consider 2"x4" woven wire fencing around the lower four feet of the run, stapled into the framing, under those wood strips.
I worry about raccoons and their little hands, and large dogs breaking into the coop.
Plant trees and shrubs around to provide shade in summer and a winter windbreak; takes a while to grow, but worth it. Mary

@Folly's place ---The latches have carabiners in them---they were out because I was at the coop. What kind of latches would you suggest?
I was thinking about covering the edges of the HWC too. The staples we used were 1.5" staples put in with a compressor gun---not the regular staple gun kind. They were put in about every inch.
I am going to get some good tarps for windbreaks in the winter. The coop is in the shade until about noon under the deciduous trees---should be sunny in the winter.
I am paranoid too and appreciate your suggestions! Thank you!
What do you mean by "woven wire"?
