Love some of the Raspberry Pi automations

How about integration with Home Assistant? There are some awesome ESP32 projects that got my attention.

here are a few things I’m planning
1. Is the coop open. (I have a pullet shut door which I want to monitor)
2. Did all the chickens make it home? (Thinking object detection or RFID)
3. do the chickens have water? (ESP water detection)
4. Do the chickens have feed? (ESP with opto sensor)
5. Did the chickens lay an egg (either ESP based Sollutions or some sort of computer Vision)
6. Layer or eater? (correlate layers with non-layers)

of course doing the mandatory web cam and light control systems as well

Would love to see what people are planning.

Everyone has their different ideas.. I only have an automatic pop door. I still check to make sure all chickens made it into coop at evening. The advantage for me,,,,, is the release of them into outdoors as soon as dawn arrives. When I go to the coop,,, they have been out for some time already.

Another thing that is handy, is a remote humidity sensor inside coop. You can see the relative humidity percentage on a device that is inside home. Those usually come with a thermometer reading also. The humidity is important during winter in areas with low temperatures,,,, this way you know of possible frostbite danger.

WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and :welcome
