I found this a few months ago and have recently been thinking about having a go at building it. Couple of questions though. It seams a bit small, and no way is it sutible for up to 6 standard sized hens. what's more realistic? I was thinking about three of them.

But the run is tiny too, only about 20 square feet or 2 square meters. I don't think I'll be able to use this without letting the birds free range too, what do you think?

Lastly the coop has an open bottom, Where I live it gets really cold in winter down to minus 20 Celsius sometimes, do you think this will be a problem for the birds? I think it will be too small if I put a floor in there too.

I was thinking of using it for bantams. Do you think it will be a usable coop if I did build it?

Its a cute little coop, but you're right, way too small for six chickens. Maybe three, but not six. If you had a few bantams it would work, though if it were my coop I would definitely have them free ranging because it is a pretty small space.
Good luck!

I was thinking of just three or four bantams, It's a really nice looking coop but it is tiny. hmmmm I'll have to rethink.

thanks

That's basically a chicken "tractor". If you look in the Coop Designs section, top center of the BYC page, you'll find a bunch of really easy, workable designs, many with the building details and plans. I call them the inspiration pages!
