coop dimension help

Hi,

I want to raise 3-5 hens. Would a 3ftx3ft coop be sufficient? And how many nest boxes should i have? 1 or 2? I have a good idea as to how i want to build it, I just want to make sure that i have enough space for them. Especially as i live in New England, and if they are going to be cooped up all winter, I want to make sure they don't kill each other because of overcrowding.

That's a little small. For 5 hens you should have 20 square feet. A 5 ft x 4 ft coop would be 20 square feet.
One nest box should be fine.
