Coop door dilemma...need help/opinions...

I have a 32x80 inward opening steel insulated door with a 9 pane window on my coop and I would not have done it any other way now that I spent the little bit extra on the door... not only does it let soooo much more light in, it is going to keep the coop alot warmer in the winter, it is steel so I dont have to worry about critters breaking through it, there are absolutley no drafts around it (if you get it hung squarely) which is very important over the winter months... I have no issues with the pine shavings getting in the way of opening and closing the door... the girls know to move their little feathered butts outta the way when the key hits the door... I also hung a decorative cow bell my wife bought me right next to the door that I ring before entering the coop (just in case they didn't hear me coming)... by the way my coop is 8x9 and i have no issues getting in and out of it with the door opened (in)

sorry but I'll have to jump in on your husbands side on this one

ETA: interior doors will not hold up to rain, snow, and moisture no matter how much you treat them... the are hallow

We have exterior doors purchased at local national lumber retailer and I wish they swung out because of litter. Chickens getting out hasn't been a problem. If I could do it over I would install the door higher (frame it in 4 inches higher). You would be stepping into the coop. If interior space is a problem hang it as close to one side as possible. We diid that and it leaves enough room for shelf on other side for storeage so I am not running into the garage for my chicken stuff.
