We have a young flock of 10 hens and 3 guineas that are around 3 months old. We wanted more guineas but the store didnt not have another batch coming in for a month so we also have 4 more guineas that are 6 weeks old. We have been introducing the younger birds into the flock and it seemed like today they got along well enough to let the younger birds stay in the coop over night.... Well the older hens and guineas cooped up and the younger ones stayed in the run and did not coop up.
I have put a box with some bedding in the run for the younger birds but my question is if I should close the door to the coop tonight? Another question is if it will be to to cold to just leave the younger birds outside tonight? We live outside of St. Louis and it will be 60 degrees tonight. We live at the edge of some timber so predators may be an issue over night. Thanks
