I found a great old ten pane glass door in our barn, that I want to use on my coop. It is made of solid wood, the glass panes are all solid and in great shape but needs to be painted. My 'thinking' was that it would let in lots of light and the chickens could see out and it will open into the completely enclosed run--so I don't have to worry about some animal breaking the glass to get into the coop.. Will it work? Or should I use it as a stationary window and use a solid wood door.. I really like the door..Dixie

As long as no animal can get to it to break it then it would be great!

Chickens love lots of light in their coop and I know people that have windows down almost at floor level so their chickens can look outside.

nccountrygirl - I love it! I wish I could find a door like that for my coop too. Your chickens are so lucky.
