going to be moving and enlarging my coop next weekend. ive prefabbed most sections, so it should be 95% done in one day. my hens are laying fools. lol. do you think this will put them off at all? bad part is they lay mostly from mid morn till mid afternoon without to much variation.

It can reduce laying or even stop it for a short while. Chickens do not like change and it stresses them out. Your best bet is to wait until they go to roost in the old coop and move them to the new coop. Let them out a little later then usual so they can understand their new surroundings. Not all hens stop.

ok thanks. sounds like I should treat them the same as when I moved them from the brooder to the coop.

ok despite the weather I was able to build my new coop. ran out of light so i'll have to move and rebuild my run after work this week. looks like everything should workout. one of my EE's laid an egg in a nest box before I was even finished. I had to put everyone in the coop by hand but hope that tomorrow they will know where to go themselves.

It may take a few days for all of them to know for sure. Just count heads to make sure all of them got in there.
