Coop floor

I have an outdoor coop with 2½ walls in chainlink fence, and the rest in tin. I'm wondering if I should pour the floor with concrete. I would like to harvest their waste to till into my garden, and to deter some rats that have been seen cruising around the place. If i need to, I can throw bedding down for the girls, but thought I would get some more info. Thanks for your time

You can put cement down, but I would prefer just earth myself. You can use the Deep litter Method, That does get somewhat involved, but works well for those peeps that choose it. Another method that many get confused with DLM, is simply Deep Bedding. This does not involve providing necessary moisture like in DLM. As well as trying to balance the Carbon and Nitrogen sources. The Chicken poo still does break down, but not as quickly as in a working DLM composting situation.
If you do clean out the coop when built up, it can be tilled into soil. (droppings,+ litter, such as shavings, hay, straw, leaves ETC. )
I usually throw out my coop cleanout onto garden area in the fall. Onto surface, and let weather rinse the nutrients into soil over winter with snow , melt, rain.
I never encountered it to be TOO HOT that way. Tilling it into soil in the Spring should make the soil well enriched , and not too hot.
