I am needing some ideas for a coop for 100-120 chickens. Ive read different square footage per bird every where I have looked. We live in the ND and it gets super cold. My current chickens don't get out much in the winter because of the cold and snow. What would you recommend for square footage and heating the coop in the winter?

Thank you! I just want to make sure they are comfortable throughout the long winter months.

The recommended is 4 square ft per bird of useable floor space this means don't count the nest area or the feeding areas. Then 10 square ft per bird for the run

Look up (Google) the Woods fresh air poultry house or Woods colony house. There are a couple of threads on here to. Search for "woods house". There is an excellent design for a 20 x 20 house that could hold close to 100. The design can also be lengthened to increase capacity almost indefinitely.
