I have 3 ducks (boys, I think) and 4 hens. They are all 8 weeks old and have been together since about 6 days old. During the day they are in a horse paddock and are currently sleeping in a kiddie pool inside our barn's tack room. I am converting an old run-in shed into a coop for all seven. I built a chicken coop in the past but never have had ducks before. I already have an automatic door from the AdorStore. (Last coop had one and I loved it.) So, here are a few questions:
1- How high off the ground can I put the door? Will ducks walk a short ramp to get into the coop?
2- Do ducks have any preferred sleeping arrangements? Right now they are sleeping on shavings but wasn't sure if something else was better.
3- Do I need to have a water supply inside coop? Since ducks are a bit messy with their water habits, I was hoping they could make it from 7 pm until sunrise without water.
4-Anything else I should know that I don't know to ask?

Here’s a pic of mine. (It may take them a while to get the hang of it, it took my ducklings several months to successfully get both in and out by themselves. Sometimes still I have to pick them up and put them in for the night.)
If you plan on letting them have 24/7 access to food they must have water. I give my ducks water inside their coop but that’s just me. My coop is made of wood so doing this may result in the wood rotting faster but I still supply it anyways. Spoiled ducks.
