we are building a new house with attached garage and I plan to build an attached coop to the garage. The nesting boxes will be inside the garage so that I can gather eggs from inside the garage. Is this a good idea or do I want the coop separated from the garage. We live in Maine so I felt this might make the coop warmer in the winter as the garage will be slightly heated.

I think it's a good plan.

What kind of coop are you building? I mean, will you be able to walk into it? If so, I'd just have access to the coop from within the garage.

The only entrance to the coop is from the garage except for the small door for the chickens to exit into the run. There will be an outside entrance to the run. Thank you for responding to my question.

We had an attached coop to our heated shop and it was wonderful... especially in the winter. I say go for it!
