Coop Roof

I was wanting to know should the roof be insulated and closed up. There are vents along the top with hardware cloth for ventilation.

Open up the ends there, don't add another layer or the mice will nest in the cavity.

If you have vents, I don't really see the point in insulation. Especially since it will just give mice something to nest in. But thats just my thoughts.

Where are you located? I'm interested in what kind of weather you can expect. I find it easier to offer something helpful if I know what you are actually worried about.

It looks like you already have LP TechShield installed if that is a photo of your coop. Not sure what you are asking if it is already installed.

i live in east TN. and that was on the wood when we bought it it is a radiant barrier

I grew up in the Cumberland Gap area of Tennessee. You do not need insulation. You do need ventilation up high.

ok i do have ventilation under where the roof extends with hardware cloth on both sides of the coop. Thank You
