Coop Too Small?

Hi! I have 7 new chicks, about a month old. I’m building a coop for them and am concerned they’re not going to have enough space, but I’m so far into construction to turn back! The design is called a stagecoach mobile chicken tractor. It’s 4x8, but the area where they’ll be put up at night on their perches looks to be too small to accommodate 7 hens. Any advice? Recommendations? Should I build a second little coop and move a couple into that one? One of the chicks, the Polish, is getting picked on by the Easter Egger so separating them might not be the worst idea. Was planning to build a run after I finish this coop tomorrow. For now they’re been in a large rabbit cage at night and secured rabbit pin in the yard during the day. Def ready for more space!

I’ve built one of these and it’s just too small for a bigger flock. I had 3 bantams (2 hens and a roo) in mine and that’s the max I would keep in one - even 2 full size chickens is pushing it IMO.

For 7 large fowl birds you need about 35sq.ft of coop space and 70 sq.ft. of run... with this you only have 8 sq.ft of coop and 32sq.ft of run.

That’s what I was afraid of. Guess I’ll have to divide the flock and build a second bigger Stationary coop next to the run I was planning to build. Hope at least this will hold them all for another month or so while I can knock that out.

One of my chicks is a bantam so I can put her and the Polish in here. I just worry they’re too social to be only two together?
