I am so excited. With the snow in Colorado, we have been a bit delayed with our coop and run. We were able to get the posts for the run completed last week:

We are not using the shed for the coop and the coop will be inside the run and here is the latest with framing complete and windows in. The coop will be 6x6 and the run be 15x18. One thing about Colorado is that the snow always melts fast!

The nesting boxes took forever to design and get into place. The bottom two are 18x16 and 24" deep. These were designed for our Jersey Giants and we were hoping for 18x18 but just couldn't get it all to work with the space we were working with. They will only be about 3 inches off the ground. The top boxes will be 12x16 and 15" deep. We need to make the doors still.

We were able to work on the siding on the other walls (besides the nesting box side)

Thanks for looking!

Paint and trim going up. Door complete and working on the chicken door.

The South side is completed

I will have to say, this project is taking a lot longer than I expected. I thought we could get this completed in a couple of weekends and we are now on week 4 and still have things to complete on the coop before we start on the run. I think the coop will likely be completed this weekend so we can move the chicks out soon. We do have a snow storm (really!?) coming this Tuesday so that might push us back a bit.

The interior is complete! We blocked off the nesting boxes under the window until the girls are closer to laying age. We used PDZ in the poop trays under the roosting bars. We are still trying to figure out if we need a platform or ladder so the girls can get up to the higher roost. The lower roost was designed for our 2 Jersey Giants but our EE, Lucy was brave checking it out first.

We finished the run and I will post pictures soon!

Thanks for looking.

The run is now complete. The run is 18x15 with pine bark footing. We used hardware cloth on the sides and a shade tarp for the cover. We are curious to see if the tarp will be able to withstand the snow next winter but it really does a great job of cooling the area and provides protection from hawks and owls in our area.

My DH and boys putting the finishing touches.

The corgi, Cedric checking the parameter.

Our golden, Finny posing for a picture and you can see the hardware apron covered by pavers we had available.

I thought I would share since BYC was so helpful when we were designing and building our coop and run for our cute chicks!
