You said you have a 150 ft outdoor extension cord. If it is at least 12 gage it should work, a 10 gage would be a lot better at that distance.
 
What ya trying to power? A light?
12 guage is good for 20 amps. .10 is good for 30..
Likely a 12 if fine at 150 feet.. for most coop needs
