corn cob bedding

Hi! I was just wondering if anyone had used the corn cob bedding. Is it a good idea or a bad idea? I know it is kinda pricey. Can the chicks digest the corn cobs if they happen to eat them any better than the pine chips? The chicks are 4 and 5 weeks old. Thanks!

They wouldn't be able to digest them any better than wood chips. I've used corn cob for my mouse tanks in the past and found that wood chips do better for odor and more importantly they dont mold as easily as corn cob does. Birds are pretty sensivine and mold could be bad news. Also that stuff is very heavy, and not compressed like wood chips so a bag taking up as much space goes maybe half as far at best.
