How much corn or scratch feed do I give my chickens? Can to much give them diarrhea?

Hello!

Corn to chickens is like candy to a baby, so just feed it as a treat once in a while.....Throw a few handfuls down for them to scratch around at, giving them some exercise as well.

I've not heard that you can give them the runs with too much corn, so I think you're safe there........

If you let them free range, it's a nice incentive to them if you throw some around in their coop or run when it's time for them to come in......Believe me, they'll run for it! They just love it!

Definately don't overdo it on the scratch or corn. Good rule is to feed no more than 10-15% of the total diet as scratch. It dilutes the overall protein of your ration if you feed too much.
