Approx a week and a half old. Weight appears normal for breed.

Got a cornish cross baby from Murdoch's. They gave her to me as she wasn't doing well and appeared to have splay leg.

She's done great this last week. I check in on her throughout the day. Brooding tank is at my desk so I can watch her and others. Temps are 85-90.

Water is available 24/7. Clean. Replaced daily. More often as needed. First week included electrolytes and probiotic.

Food is medicated chick starter.

Symptoms are: Laying lethargic in her own poo this morning. Did not move. Appeared to have no control of left leg. Refuses food and water. Throws head back and forth when lifted. Eyes appear to not be seeing. Potential seizure?

Onset: This all occured within the last six hours while I was asleep. Have three other chicks still healthy. Two araucana and one mystery breed.

She died in my lap. Decline was incredibly rapid.

I'll add. I had no intention of getting a CX or any other meat bird. I have personal issues with certain things around them. I took her on to try and give her a chance to get healthy, but also to try and ensure she wasn't suffering due to splay leg.
