Have any of you ever had a Cornish Cross sound like it is congested? I have one six week old male that sounds like it is congested when it breathes. I'm hoping it doesn't die prematurely because it looks delicious! We're not going to be able to process them until they are 7.5 weeks old because we set up a date to get a bunch of help and we really want to do them all at once.

I processed one at 4.5 weeks yesterday, it went from sneezing a bit to turning blue in the comb, very lethargic overnight, when he would breathe he sounded very much like he was struggling to breathe, I found a big sack of fluid around his heart.

Any raspy breathing in a Cornish x is probably indicitive of impending heart failure within a few days or a week at most. It is possible its due to something else but it is most likely due to heart failure/ascites.
