Cornish cross dark red comb

This is my first time raising Cornish cross. One has a very dark red almost purple comb and wattles. Wondering what this means and why. Here is a picture he is sitting beside one with normal color for comparison.

Should I go ahead and process or do you think it will make it a little longer. It doesn't seem lethargic, but does seem a little malformed and has difficulty standing.

I'd be tempted to process it.
