Cornish cross mixing with other breeds

I have a bunch of Cornish cross chicks and I was thinking about breeding them with some of my other chickens curious on if that's even possible or if that's even a good idea

By all means post away when the desire strikes you, especially if you have questions (provide as much detail/info as possible and pictures truly help)... I don't speak from personal experience but from what I've read and have understood, the cornish crosses are generally developed for rapid growth and early freezer camp attendance. You can limit their feed to force slower development, but generally speaking they aren't good for breeding purposes. They will not breed "true" and they tend to develop medical issues causing early death like internal organ failure and broken bones from the rapid weight gain. They aren't bred for longevity, they're bred specifically for food.

Oh, if you haven't done so already, PLEASE put at least your general location in your profile. It could be very important if/when you ask for or offer help or advice. You know, climate issues and such. I recommend at least your state as most folks won't be able to figure out where if you put anything more specific (county, town, street, etc) by itself. Old folks like me will never remember & look there first. To add it, mouse hover over Account top right and a drop down will appear. Click on Personal Details and scan down. That isn't a Cornish X. I agree with Feather Hearts and that it looks like a poult.
