It's clear that I have one roo and he is the biggest with the thickest legs and biggest feet. The other three are slightly smaller than he is.
only one of the others has "thick" legs like the roo so I am keeping my eye on that one. The comb and wattles are not as big or red as the
roo, so am pretty confident it is just a larger hen. Doesn't matter either way to me, they will all taste delicious I am hoping.
I forgot to add the bread to their diet. Mine are getting a combo of fermented feed (w/ some extras thrown in for good measure) in the morning and
dry crumbles in the evening when I get home. The one that was not walking well, is getting around much better. I expanded their "playpen" area
and set the food dish farther away from the water to encourage her to move around more. The roo is getting
pretty food aggressive and feisty whenever I'm trying to get the food dish in/out.
Am still wondering if I will raise meaties again - the processing and taste of the meat will be my determining factor.
Thanks for all the info shared
