Cornish Rock Skin--Will It Ever Thicken Up?

Hey Y'all,

I have 22 cornish rocks that are 7 weeks old. I feel that they hardly have any fatty skin on them at all. They are well fed, but when I pick them up and look at their breast area its still very thin and essentially see through skin. When will they start to develop the thicker skin that I see in everyones butchering photos?

I raised 75 Cornish this year and they never grow "thicker" skin. I'm not sure where you saw the thicker skinned birds, but if the birds are happy and fat, they are perfectly fine.
