I don't think you can go wrong for meat birds no matter where you shop. I've heard wonderful things about Meyers on this site. I've never personally purchased from them though, so I can't give you first hand testimonials.

I would look for best price and try to buy as close to home as you can. Usually though, it's best to stay one state away if you aren't going to buy locally. That will save you sales tax and still assure your chicks of a short trip to your place.

My local feed store sells broilers for $.99. I would be hesistant to pay much more than that, as I've seen similar prices on a lot of hatcheries' websites.

My last purchase was from Meyer.

The order arrived exactly as I requested and right on time.

All birds healthy on arrival and didn't lose one.

I will use them again.

Myers is great but since your from Kentucky... you could order from Moyers... Myers.. or even Mt. Healthy...

All are good and I've tried from all three so go with the cheapest and closest.

I ordered Delawares very early from Myers this year.
The first shipment came to Tennessee through a freezing snap and the USPS apparently let them set on the loading dock all night.
Not Myer's fault.

8 of 25 survived to get home, once warmed up, all 8 made it, and in less than 8 weeks, I have one rooster that takes two hands to hold.
Incidently, I called Myers the next day, and the next week they shipped replacements for the lost, plus a few more, no cost!
Great people!
ALL of those arrived alive and in great shape...I actually have a few more than I ordered.
Very friendly folks, and truly sympathetic when they got my...quite unhappy...first phone call.
They actually RESPOND to email or phone...what more could one want? Order from them today!
