Cornish X and adult GRIT

Hi everyone,

At what age can Cornish X broilers have adult GRIT? I don' want to introduce it too early and cause crop problems. They have been on chick GRIT since 2 days old. They just turned 4 weeks old today.

I leave mine on chick grit. Interested to know if there is a difference.

The farmer I get these from doesn't supply grit at all. The eat prepared feed even in the tractor on pasture. Clay soil, so nothing from the ground to speak of. After 8 weeks, I found a bit of grit in the crops in my birds and firmer. His birds had soft gizzards.
