Could these be Cornish crosses?

They are 2.5 months old. They can fly 8 feet into trees when they escape from their tractor. They have no bare spots in their feathering. And they love forging when they escape. Are they even any kind of meat bird or should we process our Rhode Island reds for meat and keep these for eggs? They are from tractor supply company purchased April 14 as Cornish cross pullets. ( yes I did ask twice because I didn't know people would even want the little meaties for eggs)

They do not look like the Cornish Cross chickens I have seen - their necks appear to be too long. Also, they appear much slimmer, hence their ability to fly fairly well. But I would bet they would be fine for the table.

They are not any type of cross breed made for the table. Weigh one of them live and decide who to eat. Your photos actually kind of make me think of a leghorn a little bit. Just the narrow body I guess. At 20 weeks they will weigh around 4-6 lbs if it is a leghorn or other white egg layer also tend to be smallish. The good news would be they don't eat much!

No way...

Those are not meat birds, these are meat birds

Hard to say what they are, maybe leghorns T/S has a habit of selling them as CX

Keep them or sell them and order some CX you'll have far better eating in 7 weeks or so
