Yes, sometimes animal control will kill animals like this one, if you decide to keep her good, but if you cant have her there, let me know if you'd like and ill be more than happy to take her, I'm in hesperia about 1 hour from your area.
We're now giving her oatmeal in addition to water--I think she's not overly hungry because she eats it for a bit and then goes back to foraging. I'm going to give her some scrambled eggs tonight.
We're going to reach out in some of the ways suggested and try to have a permanant home for her this weekend. I've really enjoyed having her here! Someday I hope we can have a few of our own!
My first chicken came to me while I was working my second job bartending. It was my only customer for a few hours so I took her home at the end of my shift. She was so tame I figured she was lost or something so I posted on craigslist to see if she was lost but no replys and no one raises chickens in my area that I know of sooooo. I now have three chickens and am working on my second coop. GOOD LUCK!
