Coronation rooster with feathered legs

I'm ignorant on this type of thing.... someone educate me. Could the leg feathering skip a generation or two, and then reappear? Clean-legged pair from Greenfire... sold as breeding pair to someone... bred together & produced feather-legged offspring?

I have Light Sussex and have heard of feathered legs happening, but haven't seen any in my birds.

Yes it can Hickory and sometimes it does not pop up until a few generations later because both parents were "too strong in passing feather legged genes" in their offsprings.

Welsummers do have that now and then and they would be culled out.

As for the Coronation Sussex, it should be culled out. Keep breeding that way but if folks wanted feathered footed breeds then it's a different matter if they want to breed Coronation Cochins.

The bird came from Greenfire stock, but not directly from Greenfire- but I am thrilled that he has feathered shanks- i just noticed it today. We are actually developing a coro brahma with this roo, we are now working on the brahma features such as the skull shape and the comb. I just thought it was kinda wierd....

You probably can cross it with the Silver Brahmas and keep doing it until you do have the features of the Brahma's conformation with the Coronation colors. Good luck!
